Directive Speech Act in Megawati Sukarnoputri’s Political Speech during the Celebration of PDIP’s 50th Anniversary

The objective of the research was to interpret type and subtype directive speech act found in Megawati Sukarnoputri’s political during celebration PDIP’s 50th anniversary, identify its frequencies explain what they are used for. This is a qualitative that applied approach. data this study were taken from transcript speech. They interpreted by identifying utterances which applies act, categorizing them into different types subtypes. discovered 184 where 121 categorized as command, 35 requests 28 suggestions. most dominant direct while indirect occasionally. It additionally revealed command give order, instructions, prohibitions warnings, ask for cooperation, support, express wishes, suggestions advice opinions.
